Since 1945 the Mayfield family has owned and operated Mayfield Paper Company. John C. Mayfield founded the company in 1945, selling paper bags. He would travel to Austin, purchase the bags, and bring them back to San Angelo to resell. The company gradually grew and over the years added additional products such as paper packaging, adding machine paper and then grew into selling foodservice disposables. John's son Stanley joined the company in 1971 after serving our country in the US Air Force flying fighter jets. At this point, Mayfield Paper Company had locations in San Angelo and Abilene. Stanley led the company and further expanded into janitorial and chemical products, industrial paper packaging along with gift wrapping paper and office supplies. As business grew, Stanley expanded again and opened warehouses in Odessa in the 1980's, Lubbock a few years later then Amarillo in 2004. In 2010, a location was opened in Wichita Falls and today Mayfield Paper Company serves customers in Western and Central Texas, Eastern New Mexico and South-Central Oklahoma. Stanley's son John Edward Mayfield manages company operations and is based in Wichita Fall while John's brother-in-law Brian Barker leads the company. Together they are continuing to champion excellent customer service and a diverse offering of quality products with regular delivery throughout a 180,000 square mile area.
