Flat Mop Cleaning
Flat Mopping is inherently more efficient than using traditional string mops for a number of reasons. First, flat mops are easily launderable whereas only string mops that are looped are recommended to be laundered. Secondly, you can use a clean flat mop for each new room/area, thereby preventing any cross contamination from one area to the next. That is why flat mops are almost universally used in healthcare. And third, flat mopping is more body friendly as you are literally "dancing" with the flat mop versus swinging or pushing a heavy mop back and forth. Last but perhaps more importantly is that flat mops are made using microfiber. Thinner than a human hair, microfiber is chemically "split" when it's spun, creating longitudinal gaps in the fiber. These gaps, or cracks grab onto and adhere to dirt, dust and even microbes. When washed in warm, soapy water (never use fabric softener) the microfiber releases the contaminants and is ready to be reused. A good quality flat mop, such as the 3M-897765 can be laundered and reused up to 1,000 times.
