Butcher Paper is excellent for resistance to oil and moisture penetration due to starch-based sizing added at the paper mill. Butcher paper is designed for use as a temporary meat wrap, and is not designed to be used in the freezer.

Typical End Uses of Butcher Paper
Primary use is to transfer meat products from the butcher’s counter to consumer’s kitchen. It is sold to grocery stores and used for wrapping fresh foods/deli items. Pink butcher paper also enhances the meat color and is often used to retain juices and moisture in meat when smoking at low temperatures.
